Learn about chocolate

The following pages provide a small insight into the fine art of the chocolatier. Take a look at how a truffle chocolate (advocaat liqueur truffle) and a hollow chocolate figure are created.

Due to the complicated process involved, chocolates are regarded as the crowning glory of the chocolatier’s art. The huge choice of different chocolates is proof enough of the expert artisanal skill required. The main types include layered chocolates e.g. our layered praline, coated chocolates like our bear paws, moulded chocolates like our pineapple coconut truffles, hollow chocolates like our round truffles and embossed chocolates like our pistachio marzipan.

The art of the chocolatier requires a great deal of sensitivity and creativity when it comes to handling precious, delicate raw materials. Our master chocolatiers can call upon many years of experience, an invaluable bonus in the development of new creations.
