The first step consists of heating the chocolate to make it more malleable for applying the “make-up”. This is the term applied to painting the mould or decorating the figure. It is, for instance, how our figures acquire their faces.

Once heated, the liquid chocolate is filled into a small piping bag.

A face is carefully piped onto our little bear.

As our bear has white ears, we also need white chocolate, which must also be heated.

The ears are painted in with a brush.

As a finishing touch, our bear is given dark paws in dark chocolate.

The mould is now filled with milk chocolate. It forms the actual body of the figure.

The moulds rotate on a star-shaped spinner for different lengths of time depending on the size of the figure, forming and cooling down in the process.

After “spinning”, the moulds must be checked for any air inclusions.

Every single figure is then packed by hand and decorated with a ribbon.
